Hi Folks,

I was trying to import an mp3 file into an audio track. The import failed and I was greeted with an 'Out of Memory' error. I am not sure why this is happening. I believe there is a picture file, sort of an album cover,  embeeded with the mp3 track, I wonder if this is the reason for the error. If so, how do I remove the picture from the mp3 file, or is there some other issue causing this 'Out of Memory' error? I am at a loss, hope somene can helpe me. Thanks.

regards

Hi scook,

Thanks, it works.

I am having the same issue right now. Scook's solution sounds simple enough, though i'm not sure how to convert the mp3 to WAV without using Sonar?

It has something to do with the ID3v1 or ID3v2 tags. Sorry I'm not able to check right now, but it's been brought up on these forums before. I *believe* Sonar doesn't support ID3v2, and any mp3 with those tags cause the error, but you would have to double check that or I can later when I done with working.

Just dnloaded a free format converter and converted mp3 to WAV. The file then imported into Sonar as was also said above. Thanks.

Glad you got it figured out. You could also use an audio editor like SoundForge or a free one such as Wavosaur or Waveshop. One of the few tasks that cause me to keep an audio editor around.

Have you tried to uncheck the "always import broadcast waves at their timestamp".
That might help.
It is Preferences, Audio, File.

Removing the mp3 tags from existing mp3 files should also work.
