I think we are all in agreement this needs a lead of some kind on top. Definitely hear some Bob Marley in this. All sounds good from here. keep on it and let us hear the melody. :)

agreed with gus on this. Nice drums i feel they should be a 3db higher.

Aside from some mix refinements, I can almost hear either a synth lead or perhaps tenor sax sitting over top.

Nice feel, I'd like to hear a bass line in there.

Thanks, Gus. I'm working on a lead track now. It's not quite ready, but I think you guys are going to like it.
Drma, thanks for the note on the drums. I've spent a lot more time on the drums than I usually do, and I think it's worth the effort. This features Session Drummer 3 on the left, and EZ Drummer on the right. Lots if fiddling in the PRV. I'll consider raising them a bit.
Stevec, what sort of mix refinements? I'm open to your thoughts. Thanks for listening.
Thanks, sixfinger. It's got some bass in places, but I might think about expanding that.

Nice job on this one! I love the way it "skips" along...after I read the description I started to see her out there dancing lol.

Thanks Tim. You know, that "skip" was a happy accident. I was playing a sort of Celtic rhythm to the wrong back beat, and my hands just took me here. Doctored the drums a bit to fit the groove.
I still need to get the picture from Donna's files. It was a great moment. Yeah, she was dancing.
Moments before wiping out in the surf, she had handed me her phone. A wave took her and Xander(her son) down, and she lost her glasses. The glasses kind of sucked, but here she is, soaking wet, in a moderately fierce wind, potentially miserable but totally enjoying the moment. She's in free spirit mode, surrounded by the people she loves, on a gorgeous beach, and she is getting married in the morning.
I'll catch up with the songs you and others have posted, but for now I am focusing on pinning this one down.

Thanks for your suggestions, especially on the lead guitar. I've been having fun with my Riviera P93 on this one. The clean electric, lead, and bass parts were all done with it. The acoustic part is the Martin D18.
I also brought the drums up some and restrained the vibraslap.
Edit- revised version.

Ok, so I wasn't so happy with the last version after all. It was kind of boxy.
This version(Mix 5), is, to my ears, more musical and better balanced.

I have struggled with this mix, probably because I am using compressors more extensively than I have in the past.
I think it is about where I want it, but any input is welcome.
This song is a gift to my daughter, for inspiring the moment, and to my sister, for entrusting the Martin to my care.
Please share any thoughts to help make this song worthy of them.

I think this version is where I want it(mix 5).
Any last thoughts before I send it to Stephanie?
I'm kicking around the idea of a video. it will be  more of  slide show, as we have only stills from that day on the beach in Oregon.
