  • Tempo View question

It's hard to believe that I've never really used the Tempo View window that much but last night I needed to ramp down the tempo over the course of one measure from 92 BPM to 72 BPM.  I just wanted a straight line ritard of the tempo from measure 74 (first beat) to measure 75 (first beat.)

I got the window that allows you to create a series of tempo changes over a range.  However, start time and end time was asking for a hours, minutes, seconds type format and I wanted to enter measures, beat, ticks format.

Seems that there was a tick box somewhere that would change the internal time format of SONAR from HMSF to MBT.  I just can't seem to locate that.  Changing the Time window or Time ruler format didn't do what I wanted.

Also as a work around, I drew the tempo change in with my mouse.  Wasn't SHIFT + Left mouse press the way you got a straight line of changes?  Couldn't figure out what combination would do that.

That's a fine question, and I have the same need, but alas I have no clue how to do so either.  (I never did it before)

I will give this a look in a little while, and will post back if I can figure it out.

I do this frequently in Project | Insert Tempo Change | Insert Series of Tempos (although why this is under the Project menu and not the Insert menu is a mystery.
