  • Templates in New Project File box frustration

On trying to open a new project I am offered only "Normal" as a template option - the others have disappeared from view. It offers me --Blank Project --, --Play List Set -- and Normal. Nothing else.

I've been into preferences and double checked that it's pointed at the right Project Templates folder (it is).  No dice.  I've tried to work around by creating a Custom Templates folder, pasting into what I want (my Custom templates, oddly enough) and still, nothing.

I have opened templates, saved them under new names (as template files, of course, easy mistake to make not picking the right drop down) but still they don't seem to get noticed by Sonar on opening the create New Project File box.

I am unaware of anything I may have done to derail this handy, and possibly essential opening function.

Thoughts anyone? There's every chance I'm simply being dim.  Thanks in advance.

have you gone to the C/Cakewalk content/Sonar x2/Project Templates folder to see if every thing is still there?

Yes, you bet. I copied it all over to the Custom Templates file I created as well. Opened some, resaved, renamed etc, they remain invisible

When you save them did you make sure they were saved in the template format with the cwt extension?

John--I was about to say the same thing to Willowby.  The templates need the cwt extension.

It's always worked OK here (just saying so you know it *should* work).

Could it have something to do with permissions? Maybe run SONAR as administrator?

Otherwise it sounds like you're doing the right thing...

I had the EXACT same issue a while back and cannot remember for the life of me what I had to do to fix it. I do know it had something to do with the file path..something was screwy...I'm will to bet it's something there...it was a really strange and VERY frustrating issue, though, and wish I could help you..I wish you well.
