I must have hit some obscure setting. All my audio track volume levels now read:

"0" and "Volume +"

What the . . .?

Anyone know how to undo this?

Thanks!

Hi Phil,
Sounds like you're in offset mode. Hit the "O" key.

it's happened to me in the past too- a bunch of times.  I have NO idea what good the 'offset mode' does except what you describe- freakin' users out.  Can anyone explain what's good about it?

It's used to change the value of a parameter that has been automated. So if I use a volume envelope on a track and then decide that the whole thing needs to come up I can throw it into offset mode and bring it up. I use it all the time.

So great to know, Dean!!  Thanks for the explanation.  I've often wondered in the past how one could change the overall levels without losing all the automation info.

I change the shortcut key for Offset mode to something requiring 2 keys (Ctrl+... or Alt+...) so I don't end up in Offset mode from an accidental key strike without noticing it.

You can also adjust the entire envelope as follows... while editing automation, hover your mouse near the top of the clip. It will turn into a horizontal I with two arrows pointing up/down. Then click/drag up/down to raise/lower the entire envelope.
