Stylus has 8 drum parts available and I figured out how to drop each one into the sequencer.  The problem is since they are midi tracks it is creating I cannot add fx to each individual part (I think that is the reason).  Also another thing I don't understand is why it makes more than one midi track and I have to delete the extras each time I drag over a new part.

In short anyone here using Stylus RMX and can help me set it up correctly?

Thanks you all.  I just got this program so have a lot to figure out but this is one of the more important things for me.

I have searched youtube and found a video on this but it was not very helpful.  I also purchased the groove3 videos and trying to learn from that but it doesn't seem to go into this part of the program.

Thanks a lot for any help at all.

I got this to work.

So maybe it will help someone else and maybe even someone else could expand or has a better way.

1.  Open Stylus RMX with the settings "midi source" + "all synth audio outputs"
2.  clone midi track (last track) 7 times
3.  drag #1 and make sure selected A in rmx mixer
3.  Then you can drag 2 after making sure B is selected in rmx mixer, make sure select b in rmx mixer (drag to first midi track and will go to correct track)

and that is it.  easier than I thought it would be, then I can apply effects to each part using the audio tracks, each on is assigned to 1 through h

Hi Alex,

Glad you got it sorted - it's definitely a bit confusing to start with, took me a few hours, watching vids, reading, playing about and head scratching :-)

Check the Spectrasonics site for video tutorials too, they have quite a lot of good stuff over there.

Make yourself a template with the 8 Midi tracks already set up too - it's a lot easier and quicker inserting from a track template :-)

I think the most annoying thing I find with Stylus RMX, is the audio channels all default back to 'A' when you change/audition patches (if I remember correctly).

It's a mighty awesome tool, spend some serious time with it and get to know it ... you certainly won't regret it !.

Cheers - Cliff

yeah I tried to set up the a through h beforehand and they revert back to a.  So I had to do it as I went along.  I haven't had them change back after this though but haven't done a lot with it yet either.  I hope that is fixed by now, that would be very annoying.

I haven't got into templates yet.  I will have to learn that.

Yeah I have spent pretty much all weekend learning.  I made up my mind to stick with this host through thick and thin and learn it the best I can.
