Danny Danzi
Of course I took it too seriously and had to be reprimanded a few times. I nearly left twice because I just felt like once again, I wasn't being heard.
Hahaha, nothing describes my experience better than these two sentences. I was a better tester through 8.5 and X1 cycles, and where Danny
nearly left, I
actually left. Still, I'm surprised how much the Bakers were willing to listen not just to bug reports but to overall feedback (even if they didn't end up heeding it :P). I had (and have) a lot of beef about various PM decisions, but the devs are without question the hardest-working engineers I've seen anywhere (and I'm a software engineer myself!).
Since Danny and Susan already outed themselves, I have to say - they were superstars in reporting bugs. Even when, as cycles ticked away, bugs started becoming scarce.
I've been in a couple of other beta programs since. I have to say, no other beta team I've seen has a community as active, committed, and passionate as the Sonar beta team had. Maybe this fanatical devotion interfered with clear thinking now and then. But being a part of it was no less exhilarating than it was exhausting.
