I am mixing a song for a client.  The music is on a stereo track and there are other vocal tracks.  Everything is going fine, I am doing what I do and have done for years and all of a sudden the stereo music track just stops playing.  All the other tracks continue to play.
 
I try everything I can think of - nothing works - HOWEVER; I can see that the Pro Channel is still receiving the music track signal via the EQ light and the Concrete Limiter is showing a signal being received but still I can hear nothing. 
 
I have checked the outputs, took the Concrete Limiter out, rebooted the computer, etc...  I can still see the WAVE file and still the Pro Channel is still receiving a signal as indicated above.... but I can not hear anything....
 
Anybody, anybody - what am I missing????

Is there a little mute icon in the upper left hand corner of the clip. you probably muted the clip by accident with a keybind key you hit by accident.  To see if that's it, click on the mute tool and click on the clip.

If that isn't it, copy the clips in that track to a new track.

Clip can't be muted if signal is going to ProChannel. I have seen similar behavior in X2a. Copying everything to a fresh track helped me.

I've seen this happen when a Pro Channel preset was used, then the Concrete limiter was added later.  Panup's advice is probably the quickest, but you may want to create a PC preset with the concrete limiter.

Is there any automation on the track which might be kicking in when you don't expect it to? Like a volume or mute envelope?

I had the exact same problem this weekend. I actually had to revert to an older version of the project to "solve" it. Poor sollution though, I lost quite a lot of work.

It could be a gain setting on an effect. There were a few times this happened to me and the culprit was an LA-2A emulation where the gain was turned all the way down. By magic of course.

Just had this problem last night.  In the past I've had some plug in offenders ..Spaces and Waves compressor..all of a sudden the track would not output any audio, I bypassed plug in and it played again.

This time, I bypassed all plug ins..no fix.  I cloned the track and re-recorded, nothing on cloned track played.  I had to make a new audio track from scratch.  It was really odd. 

Once the audio went "dead" on the track, it still played the previously recorded audio on the track.  Really odd.  No envelopes, no mutes..it happened during playback without me touching anything. 

Looks like a weird bug. 

There is another bug in X2a that may cause clip gain go to -INF even if there is no clip envelope visible. I have seen it a couple of times when moving clips across take lanes AND moving clips to left or right at the timeline. So if a clip does not output anything, it may have got -INF clip gain internally. To resolve one must create clip gain envelope and set it to properly.
