Hey Steve, you probably know this already but there is also a free pack that has a selection from all the other swatch patches for the AAS player. It includes a selection of 93 swatches. All pretty cool.

Hi Paul,
I do have a free Swatches set from a few years back that includes samples from some of the soundsets mentioned in this thread.   But I don't recall it having anywhere near 93 patches overall.  Is there a newer one available?

Well, I forgot my free Swatches was signing up for the newsletter. There is a newer one with 98 patches (vs 93) and it has 8 patches from the dozen banks, that the Producers Content Club, now gets to pick one of. So, there isn't a way avoid the overlap, I mentioned earlier. Oh well, still, it is all free and sounds great!

At Bonanza.com, Tom's Southwest Trading Post is selling licenses for the full retail version of the AAS Ultra Analog VA-1 Synth for just $50.  I just bought a license, downloaded the software and authorized it with AAS.  Now I have a tougher decision to make when it comes to selecting my free AAS sound bank.

Hurry and get yours!  At the time of this post, Bonanza.com shows just five left in stock: NEW Applied Acoustics Systems Ultra Analog VA-1A Synth FULL RETAIL VERSION

Yeah, I thought the swatches would help but there's so many good sounds in there that it's only made it more difficult.

For those who chose 'Journeys' what are your first impressions?

I like Journeys, it was my choice.

I like Journeys also. Second on the list of choices would be 'Entangled Species',
but Journeys seemed more usuable right up front. However, you run into its
range limitations fairly quick, so my next thought is how I can manipulate them
further without having to step up into their String Machine.
(Which, honestly seems to be the basis of the limitations).

If I can take these sound banks and put them through the three Cakewalk instruments and Alchemy program, then it becomes invaluable.
