I was wondering if it is possible to create "Bus templates" in Sonar X2 similar to Track templates? 
 
I use buses to create groups for drums, brass ensambles, background vocals, etc and I would like to save the bus on a template such that I can easily recreate the bus by inserting it from a template (same thing as track templates).
 
Not being able to find a better way, I created a bus and saved the PC as a preset. It sort of works but it only saves the PC, not send levels, send asignement, etc.

Yes it is but it doesn't show as "Buss template". Just create the busses - routing - FX - etc etc as you want it and then assign one track to the buss.

Save that track as a track template. When you insert that track all of the routing and busses will be created then just delete the track. Not quite as eloquent as a fully fledged "Buss template" function but does the job all the same.

I use that method all the time for FX and routing busses.

Jhon - Karl's tip is exactly what I would have suggested for a specific Bus.

An additional idea, and the way I work, is to define a starting file. You can save that as a template. Or you can do what I do - which is to keep the starting file as just a file and just copy and paste its whole file folder and give it a new name (your new song's name).

In either case, with a starter file you can set your file just the way you like it with your preferred Buses all set up right out of the gate.

Thank you for that.  Yes, I created a new template and saved it as the "Normal" template and it works very well.
 
Now I am trying to figure out how to modify the default audio channel template that is inserted when I go for "Insert Audio Track" but that is a different story.  Again thanks.  Jhon
