When you hit stop does it draw the waveform? 

Try it with a new project. Are you able to record? What bit depth and sample rate are you using?

Have you seen the waveform drawing as you record only to have it disappear when you stop recording? Or are you seeing no waveform being recorded at all?

Drawing the wave form in real time is not a reliable indicator to tell if the track is actually recording or not. I believe you can turn off the drawing to save processing power if you so desire.

1) I've had the mysterious "no waveform" show up as a 'take lane'

2) Also had the waveform go blank of-a-sudden on sporadic cases.  Probably operator error. :):):)

Sometimes it's just best to wipe the picture file and let the DAW redraw the waves.
