Hi guys,

I have been a Sonar user for some time but lately (last 4 years or so) have been busy working and not using Sonar as much as I used to.  Anyway, this weekend I decided to upgrade to Sonar X2 and have found it is significantly different to Sonar 8 (last version I used thoroughly).

I know there are many resources around showing the new stuff in Sonar X2, but I just wanted to ask you guys for a quick guide as to what is new in Sonar X2 and what are the most important (useful?) new features.

Thank you guys. Cheers.

Jhon

Hi Jhon...

Check out the following video playlist that Cakewalk has provided outlining the new features... http://www.youtube.com/wa...eature=player_embedded

Then when you're ready for more details, you may want to check out my SONAR X2 Power! book, which will walk you through the entire application with step-by-step examples... http://www.garrigus.com/powerbooks.asp

jhonvargas - what has helped me most is going through video tutorials. They present and demo the info in an organized way.

There are several that are especially good, including the ones on X1 and X2 offered at Groove3.

The Mixing with Sonar X1 video at Groove3 is still very viable and walks through a whole song. It's very interesting.

+1 for the videos.  I'd start with Seth and Brandon's Webinar.  It will give you a really good overall idea of what's in the box. Then you can move on to the other mentioned videos for more item by item instruction.  And, of course, the SONAR X2 Power book is great for anyone just starting out, which going from 8.0 to X2 kind of is...

Best,
Rob

I had a look at the "Transitioning from Sonar X1 and earlier..." video and I found it very useful and gave me a good idea as to how different Sonar 8 and X2 are.  Very different by the way.

Tonight I will probably watch a copule of videos from Cake TV.  Hey, it is getting cold here and my I probably will drink a couple of scotch while watching.  Sounds like a good plan to me

Thank you all, is good being back after all these years and felling the support of you all.

Regards,

Jhon
