ok, maybe stupid question.  I am collaberating with someone who has Sonar 6 and I have Sonar X2. Is it possible to save a project which can be opened in Sonar 6? Just need to send him my tracks so he can record guitars. then he will send project back to me. don't need plugins etc. I know that I can export my tracks to waves and he can import etc, just would be really easy for him to just open my project and go.  Any suggestions?

Why not just bounce a stereo mix down for him and let him add his guitars to that?

You can open earlier projects in X2 but run a real risk of losing information if you do it the other way around (and Sonar will warn you/him of this when he tries to open it)

There is no option to save as an older version. I believe however that you can send your zipped cakewalk project directory and the other user can open it. They will get an error message but it should open. Do not use the ProChannel, automation or take lanes.

I suppose I could send him a stereo mix, i figured he would want to set his own mix to record.  Thanks guys!
