Well, I guess life goes on...posted the latest "Friday's Tip of the Week" on craiganderton.com. It's about how to enhance sampler presets by augmenting samples with waveforms. Yes, the screen shot shows the late, great Rapture Pro...

Craig, with the Cakewalk store now closed, is there any way to get either of the two books you wrote (SONAR Tips and EQ Explained)? Was hoping you might be able to offer them through your web site, but haven't seen anything (the link goes back to the Cakewalk store and the closure announcement).

Thanks

My web site isn't set up for e-commerce, but I'm trying to figure out how to make them available. Don't want to see them die.
  • Some good news: Sound on Sound wants me to continue writing the column for at least a while longer.
  • More good news: Because quite a few people are migrating to Studio One, I offered to port the Gibson Bass Expansion Pack presets over to Presence XT if possible (I'm pretty sure it will be possible, although there will obviously be differences). I asked if they would be willing to give the Soundset away to anyone who had purchased the Rapture expansion pack, and they said they'd be happy to do it. I didn't see any reason for people to have to buy the same expansion pack twice.
  • And some possibly good news: All the content I've created that's been sitting on the shelf (like the Chord Library) because Cakewalk's management wasn't interested in content hasn't gone anywhere. I'm trying to figure out a way to make it available, maybe at a nominal fee through reverb.com.

That sounds good. Now that the panic has started to subside, it is beginning to look like new windows of opportunity are opening up. Hope the same is true of the folks who were laid off due to this.

First of all, Tip of the Week #173 is now posted at craiganderton.com...check it out.

Second, PreSonus has asked about my possibly doing a Tip of the Week for Studio One. We'll be discussing this next week, as well as some other possible ways to help people who are switching to Studio One. Stay tuned!
