Fittingly, on the 60th anniversary of my own "release," today I released my new album, "Dream World," which I recorded and produced using Cakewalk Sonar Platinum. As I approached this milestone birthday, and the unavoidable accompanying introspection and retrospection, I decided to switch gears and revisit and reinterpret some of the non-lawyer/non-holiday/non-humor songs I have written over the past 40 years but never released. In addition to the "dream" theme which runs throughout the album, the common element of these songs, either directly or symbolically, is relationships, with life partners, family, friends, colleagues -- and ourselves. In a sense, I connected with the person I was when I wrote them, adding the perspective of subsequent life experiences, and hopefully somewhat more developed musical ability. A medley of clips is available at
www.LawrenceSavell.com, CDBaby, etc. As usual, the best part of the album is the beautiful color watercolor kindly contributed by my mother.
