I exported my programmed instruments from guitar pro to MIDI and open it in SONAR x2 Essential. Then tried to insert Softsynth STUDIO INSTRUMENT (Midi Source/First Synth Audio Output/Enable Midi Output), SET OUTPUT (SI) for my MIDI track... I can hear sounds from Synth Property Page of SI but when I tried to PLAY my MIDI track, there are NO SOUNDS AT ALL! Then I let my MIDI keep on playing (NO SOUNDS), opened SI property page, changed program, then I can hear sounds...but when I stopped and played from the start, back to NO SOUNDS! ANYONE encounter this problem?

NOTE: DOESN'T HAVE PROBLEM using Cakewalk TTS and Other MIDI samples that are NOT programmed from Guitar Pro are working just fine from ANY SoftSynth that I used.

PLEASE HELP GUYS! I WANT TO LEARN MORE FROM YOUR ADVICE!:-)

Thanks in advance!

John
Did you load a patch into the SI? BTW which SI?

Yes John. I used SI Bass and SI Drums. I can't figure out how to fix that NO SOUNDS problem for some MIDI files that I used when I open it in sonar.

Check the MIDI channels. Make sure they agree.

I tried only for bass, inserted my MIDI, set it to MIDI Channel 1... set output again for SI Bass... at 1st it's ok... then stopped...play... NOTHING again. Changed bass program from SI property page while playing, then comes out the sound...then stopped...play...again, NOTHING. What do you think the problem is?:-(

It could be a bug. Try another synth.

Only Cakewalk TTS is working for this MIDI that I inserted. (But I don't like the Bass sound and drums.T_T  ...Or is it because I programmed it from other software? (Guitar Pro) Does it make any difference? But it's only a MIDI data, right? So, it should be able to work with any other SoftSynth to produce sounds from any DAW, am I right? Or maybe you're right, it could be a bug.

Anyway, thanks for replying John. I really appreciate it.

Could it be that Guitar Pro adds unwanted info to the MIDI track? This thread sounds like http://forum.cakewalk.com/fb.ashx?m=2071436
