OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! there has to some setting in sonar... I just received the second unit, un-installed/re-installed the drivers, and the same thing is still happening.. the fader moves on the VS when i click/drag a fader in X2, but Sonar does nothing when I move the fader physically.. All other ACT functions work. Controller is set to SONAR, DAW FULL ASSIGN, the other encoders adjust parameters in the channel strip, i can pan, but the fader DOES NOTHING! .. super frustrated, especially because this is probably such an easy fix.. =/

OK, so if we have a good unit, and it is working for me but not you my first thought is are we looking at the same thing and expecting the same result.  In track view, with the track showing in the inspector and the ACT selected color showing on the track when viewed in Console view, when I move the slider on the VS-100 the graphic representation of the slider moves in synch with my physically moving the slider.  What I'm hearing you say is that looking at the same thing, when you physically move the slider on the VS-100 the sliders in the inspector and on the console view do not move.  Are we talking about the same thing?

Correct... when I physically move the slider on the VS-100 the sliders in the inspector and on the console view do not move... But if I click on the slider and drag it down to lower or raise the level of the track, then my physical fader WILL move.. The only thing that this is hindering is my ability to write automation.. The physical slider WILL READ automation.. But for some reason it seems as if (A) the VS is not sending the midi msgs to SONAR, or (B) Sonar is not receiving the mesgs.. It may not even be that.. There is in Utility>VS-100 menu an option inside the app for my vs-100, an option to disable fader movement).. But this option is not checked.. Therefore, I should have fader movement.. And I do have movement when i manually (point & click) automate it and play it back.. But not if I write it with the fader.. I'm kind of stumped.. Pretty much in a nutshell, when i move the fader on the VS it produces no effect on screen.. But it will the opposite way.. I appreciate your diligence and your help very much.. thanks again.

Be sure that you have MIDI input to your VS 100 setup properly from Sonar.

Also in Preferences under Control Surfaces you might want to select your VS 100 and at the bottom you will see check boxes for configuring how and what is mirrored.

OK I would remove the keyboard from the VS 100 and give it its own port.

Also try changing the setup from control strips visible in all to Console View in Control Surfaces. This is just a test.
