im not sure how much this will help but make sure your pluging the vs100 in the same USB port you installed the drivers too. thats important.
also install any editor software that came with the unit.
 
i have the vs20 and in mine there is a settings tab ( thats where routing, phantom power is located), not sure if you have one as well but that would be a place to check.
