  • Nearly no metronome playback

I just got a new computer today with Windows 8 and also new speakers. I hooked up my Roland Quad-capture and got everything working... except for the metronome. For some reason the playback for it is almost silent. I can hear a little bit, but there is nothing I can do to make it louder. I have my master output set for the "Quad-capture 1-2" and that works ok, for some reason it sounds a little different from when I used it on my other computer. I have the metronome set to the same output "Quad-capture 1-2". I keep thinking it is something to do with the speakers I got, but I am not sure. Also when I switched to the ASIO drivers it said that some output devices were not found. How is this possible when I have it hooked up to the computer?

What do you have the speakers connected to?
Are you using the audio or MIDI metronome?
Is that ASIO or ASIO4All?
Not all devices use ASIO drivers, like the stock computer sound card, so it won't be found after switching to ASIO.
Many of us don't use the metronome, preferring instead to make a scratch drum track in the project.
It's a lot louder and more like what would be in the songs many of us write (rock, country). If you're a classical composer, a BOOM POP BOOM POP drum track may not sound so good while recording your nocturne in C# minor.

Check out EDIT->PREFERENCES->PROJECT->METRONOME.

You can adjust the output volume and path here.
