I am trying to export audio tracks so that they can be imported into a friend's DAW, which isn't Sonar. Some of my tracks have holes in them from editing out measures that were not needed. Now, I need all of my tracks begin at measure one so that they can be easily aligned in my friend's DAW. I am using Sonar 8.5 and my friend will be importing the tracks into Ableton Live.

Bounce track to clip, it'll take all the portions of audio within a track, create one track with the waves appearring where they should within the project, and periods of silence where there is no audio, but it will be one long track beginning at "Zero" and ending at the final time displayed event, ie; 220:00:00

There's actually no need to bounce to clip first. Just highlight the track in track view (click on the track number) so that all the clips turn black, then export. You'll have a continuous WAV file the correct length with the gaps filled in.

If you have a problem Slide all the audio tracks over a measure and insert a short burst like a click in the exact same spot in all tracks in measure 1. You friend can then line all the tracks up if they start in different places in time.

or ypu can export as time-stamped broadcast wav files which will import at the correct positions in live.

You can export to an .OVF file, and most other applications will open that format. I typically get .OVF's from other applications, and when I open them in Sonar X2; it asks for the original tempo and it's all lined up as needed.

I think you mean OMF.

This is an old thread started by a person who is in the habit of asking a question and never responds to answers.

Kinda' like opening a door for someone then being ignored for you kindness? ..grins
Don't even need to record an alignment click' just drop in a start (and end if you like) Marker for the head of your bounce or exports.
