  • Changing a clip after volume automation?

Here's the issue. I'll have a track with automation on it, usually a volume...or a v vocal. We'll cut another track at a later date. I want to cut out part of the automated track...to move or delete or something. But after the track is automated it won't let me do that. Is this not possible or what am I missing?

Not seeing that problem here with a normal audio track.  I don't think you can cut and paste edit a track that is really in v-vocal.  try bouncing it (v-vocal track) then editing the bounced track.

+1 Glen. You cannot do any editing on a V-Vocal clip until it's been bounced.

You probably need to bounce V Vox.... first.

Split and copy/paste works fine on automated clips. I think there's a dialog box that lets you choose to bring the automation envelopes or not with the moved clip.

I leave my dialog on default and the envelopes come along for the ride.

Select the V-Vocal clip and choose Clip(s) > Bounce To Clip(s) from the Track view menu. Now you can edit.
