Nicely done you guys. Love this song on the HD Videos in iTunes. I did have to download your version and re-master the sound for a 128kpbs version, for my listening pleasure. I will send you a file if you like Gonzo to see how it turned out. I re-mastered it in Ozone 6 with a custom preset I had created for re-mastering CD's. Worked really great on everything and sounds pretty good if I do say so myself. Still dealing with my cancer problem but seem to be getting better. Great job on Aimee Mann's wonder song The Moth and your friend sang this one very well. Nice one!

The song drew me in further it progressed, sign of a good song.
Kind of a mix between 60's and 2000's feel to the mix. I liked it a lot, well done.
I'm with Rimshot and Daryl, have you tried it with drums?

thanks for listening......
i guess this song is making people think of 60's era folk tunes?
i don't know, and not a huge fan of Mann, so i don't know her background,
but it is a very simple and straightforward song and mix,
with no tricks,
just a bit of ambience put on the various things and faders brought up.

the original had drums, half way thru,
we wanted to do a different version of it.

thanks for listening john...
and glad you like it!
and feel free to use the file anyway you want,
but....

this is already a mastered file,
mastered as hot as it should be.....
i would never suggest mastering a file twice.....

normally i master using 24 bit and 44.1khz files, and master to output to redbook standard 16 bit/44.1khz.
my typical mix has a average RMS of about -22, and peaks at about -6,
and usually i bring up the average RMS to about -12, with peaks to -0.3.

i will then rip a 320kpbs mp3 directly thru wavelab from the 16 bit file (this is as far down the scale of lossy formats that i am willing to go),
and one of the reasons i usually allow downloads from my links,
so that any critical listening can be done at full bandwidth-- i cannot stand mp3 files personally,
and the 128kbps files usually sound horrible to me.

Thanks Gonzo for your input. I use 128kpbs,because I have a free soundclick page and not a paid one where I too could use the 320kpbs, but it is what it is and so that is why I use the 128kpbs format. The preset I created in Ozone 6 is set up to search what ever song I put in and find the proper algorithm and map the song properly for complete clarity. It is very complex and I spent several hours setting it up and works on any pre-mastered CD format. There was a lot of settings to arrange, especially all the search settings for each of the 7 sections, from pre-sound to post sound and everything in between. If you go to my soundclick page all songs are 128kpbs and mastered with this preset. Thanks again for the download.
