Wayne thanks for having a listen and commenting, the rhythmic sounds is two different ARP sounds I put together on a Moog Modular V and a CS80 V they fade in and out through a couple of the different Folds.  They will reappear in the other tracks in the series.
 
Thanks for taking the time to listen and Comment Robby the distorted EP sound comes from a Wurlitzer V that has been set up so when it is played hard it over drives the input to the Rotary cab it is driving.

i like how this just mellows throughout...
and there is a good sense of judgement here,
with the synth pads for effect, being used very judiciously,
correctly,
good editing.
 
i still hear guitar all over this (of course!) LOL
it would have to be subtle to match everything else,
and not step on areas where you are introducing new elements,
because the keys and synths are stars here.
 
it would be very easy to tip the scale here,
to something that sounds more like 70's prog rock,
with the addition of guitars, drums/percussion, and a vocal
 
 
but totally works as is.

The third fold makes me think of trying to tie my shoes.   Where Rob is hearing guitars, I am hearing vocal harmonies, strange and beautiful.  I believe it's a compliment when people keep hearing things that they think would fit in your tune.  It inspires imaginations.
