I liked Space Invaders.

I have no idea what any of this thread is about.

Programmers do not call this: / "forward slash" :-p

It's just slash.  Not the rubbish guitarist with the silly hat either.  This: \ is backslash.

! is bang, or perhaps not ;-)

What are some of the names TCL programmers call this construct: {*} ? :-D

This is definitely the most entertaining reply so far!

I don't know if this is the right answer to the {*} question since I'd never heard of TCL (and it came out WAY after I had started coding) but, in the early 70's <*> was a star base in the HP2000 Star Trek game so when the first Star Wars movie came out a few years later {*} was used as the Death Star.  Now, if "I" can think of a few inappropriate alternatives, but I'll simply wait for your answer.

(&& I'm != funny either, || == I?)

I wasted a lot of hours with "Adventure" and a Honeywell DPS-6

Heh, more trivia!  Back in the 70's, with a guy named Lance (can't remember his last name, begins with an "A"), I ported ADVENT (as it was called then - six character maximum) from B (on a UNIX box) to BASIC so it would run on the HP2000.  It had a pretty innovative language processor for the time.

Man how people hated the maze trying to get the stuff back that the Pirate had stole!  They rarely checked to see if they could go UP.

The revised, politically correct, version will have "Throw sharp instrument on a stick at vertically challenged person!"

I kept a FORTRAN deck for it for ages.  That went out with the 8" floppies years ago.

I am not a nerd, but I am glad to know that all the nerds here let me hang around with them.  I also like the fact that nerds can make some real cool stuff so that I am able to kill lots of time.

To all the nerds, I salute you.
