And back to our favorite subject of notation

although I use an external program for serious notation, I print the staff view often to give the singer a quick lead sheet. All of my original music has a track with a generic sound (like a Rhodes) playing the melody (and harmonies) so we have the lyrics and music on the screen and the parts playing for the purpose of showing the singer how the parts go.
In addition to just teaching the song, you would be amazed how much having this melody line reduces timing and phrasing errors that would later have to be corrected (painfully) in Melodyne. Your mileage may vary but I have more issues with timing than with pitch with most singers--and pitch is easier to fix.
