I don't mean to sound abrasive, by any means, but what CJ said, I think we all understand and agree. Similar testaments have been posted quite often here and other software boards, but there's no disagreement with what he said. In what I mentioned above means to illustrate that, if you are selling a product, and you are made aware of bugs and ill-effects, even if only side-effects that occur, it would be in your best interest to at least fix what you can find before just abandoning a release because you may agree with users in how flawed it is.
There's no shame in admitting fault or failure to release a flawless product. But it's a shame to simply abandon it for a shinier object in the sky. That just shows there's little regard for users with immediate issues that may not be solved by the user or updates for the OS or other drivers/software etc.
I would believe that Cakewalk would at the very least want to offer X2b. If they suddenly changed direction to offer X3, then this would paint a very negative Vista-like character on X2, which no company should ever want, not even Microsoft. BUT! It is a sneaky way to try out something radically new and have the end-users fund it! So, we'll see what happens, right?
