I've been looking through the docs and if there's an answer, I can't find it.

Is it possible to customize the mouse scroll wheel to perform other functions than the default scroll and zoom? I would like to be able to access the "+" and "-" zoom functions from the wheel.

Thanks!

CONTRL + Scroll gives you left to right movement
ALT + Scroll gives you Zoom  in/out

The thing I could never figure out is how to have the scroll behave the same as CTRL + Right Cursor and CTRL + Left Cursor - in other words zoom timeline horizontal zoom without track focus height zoom.

The only way I know how to do this is to place my mouse below the bus/track divider line and ALT Scroll my mouse wheel.  That will do the timeline horizontal zoom in the track pane but alter the focused bus height - easily returned via "F" while hovering in the bus pane.

But CTRL + Scroll doesn't seem to have a keyboard combination other than the hover in the bus solution eh?n  Let me know if I'm missing something.

look for the zoom tool button, (a little magnifying glass) in the dropdown menu look for  Fast Zoom options. uncheck "simultaneous horizontal and vertical zoom".

Also notice all of the other options in this window, different combos do different zooming and/or track navigation, and keep in mind using Alt,Ctrl and Shift, alone or different combos of any of the 3 with the mouse wheel, will also give you different zooms and/or track navigation.

Nice tip - I'll have to remember to ALT+CTRL scroll now since it's new to my workflow but I need the functionality.  I changed every setting in that Fast Zoom dialog box since the opposite of the defaults actually reflected my choice intuitive behavior.
