Hi Guys

I have recently upgraded from MC6 to Sonar X2.

I have opened up a file i was workin on in MC6 into sonar. It opened no problem.

Problem is the file seems to be slightly out of time in sonar. not matching the metronome and not alligned to each bar. ??? i know you may think it might be as easy as 'high lightin it all and just draggin it across to the bar start' , but this does not seem to work. This song has had about 40 hours put into it and really cant start it aain :(. my main problem is when i am going to insert more drum beats from Addictive drums to the project , it makes the new drums out of time , as they are wanting to allign with the bars and go in with 'Sonars' tempo.

Any help would be really appreciated....thank you :)

Just a couple of things to check.

Is the bit depth and resolution in the files the same as the project shows on the control bar?

Is the record and playback timing master set properly to your sound interface?

I have checked these and they seem to be fine. Everything just seems like 5 nudges to the right of the start of the bar...... So confused. Anyone with anymore ideas would be great!

here's what i'd do.

add a bar at the beginning of the project.

make a click track. using the step sequencer 1/4 notes... bounce to tracks. start the click track at the beginning, this will give you a one-bar count off.

move to the beginning of bar 2. turn off snap. select all except the click, nudge left until the beats line up with the click.

Have you checked to see what is set as the record/playback timing master and what is set to slave? The MC6 should be slaved to your sound cards internal clock ,if the MC6 has that capability. I'm not familiar with it. Also make sure your project hasn't changed tempo.
