I can't remember the last plug-in I bought, and there's many of the ones I owned which I didn't even bother to install when I upgraded the studio computer almost 3 years ago.
But every now and then, I venture outside of my go-to set of plug-ins to spice things up a bit and rediscover some gems. Last week, I re-discovered Waves H-Comp, which I bought a few years ago but never really used much.
At any rate, my list of plug-ins must look ridiculously short by some of you guys' standards. But the fact is that the list of the ones I actually use is even shorter.
Logic EQ, Compressor, Direction Mixer, Space Designer (reverb), Tape Delay - those 5, in that order, account for 95%.
Waves' CLA-2A and L1 are the other 2 regular.
But it can be fun to spice things up a bit occasionally.
