Not worth my time. As I said, I was trying to be polite.

It's all good man, you just seemed dismissive and I was confused, but what you said here was nice. My only purpose in this post was to respond to OP and say some people are struggling with bugs more than others.

I sadly have a studio 700R and a Studio 700C that I bought just before Roland sold Cakewalk to Gibson...I guess I can say goodby to that equipment. Roland does not support it with Windows 10...I have spent 1000s of dollars upgrading over the years (bought the lifetime upgrade) and decided to stay with Sonar because I liked it and did not want to spend the money in other places. Trying to decide if this is the end of the road for my recording career.

I'm not familiar with this hardware, what's the issue? Win 10 driver compatibility? Or support in other DAWs?
I have a Edirol PCR-1, which has not been supported since Windows 7, but have modified the driver package to allow install under windows 8 and 10, and it works perfectly still. I don't know if there's a similar solution for your gear if drivers were the issue.

Well the deed is done. I'm going to Cubase. I am sad. I absolutely love Sonar and I'm afraid it will always be my native language when it comes to DAW's. But it was a struggling underdog even in its hey day. And now with large numbers of its supporters already jumping ship, I'm afraid any hopes for a buyout/resurrection are slim to none and slim's out of town.

I know that I'll miss Sonar. Especially when I run into those things that were simple, easy and elegant in Sonar and are now complex and wonky. But once we die, we die and Sonar is dead. I know lots of folks are going to stay until they're forced to move but I just can't see the wisdom in that.

A USB e-licenser has been ordered from amazon. Once that arrives I will go to Sweetwater and buy a Cubase 9.5 crossgrade and then wait for my favorite call. Not to slam Sweetwater, I really like them as a whole. But boy could i do without the phone call to explain myself every time I order something. "Hi this is Bryce from Sweetwater, I couldn't help noticing you just ordered the adjustable guitar stool. Cool piece. So what are you gonna do with it?' 'Well, Bryce, I know this is probably unexpected but I think I'm going to sit on it.'

Good luck to all who are staying. Good luck to all who are leaving. May our individual choices turn out to be the right one for each of us.
