1) tried now to work with the kontaktplayer 5, which requires Win 7,but I want to upgrade
the Os and pc after this production is finished.
Sure.....so this is no way here.....
2 .I found  good and cheap sounding Dukcimer samples which are possible to 
select in Soundfont- and gigastudio-format.

  Whch format  works in  X2 (better)  Soundfont or Giagstudio, 
  to work with in Sonar X1 - X2 ? Which sampler/synth, Dimension Pro ?

Soundfont - you need the free SFZ+ program http://www.store.cakewalk.com/b2cgbp/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=35-CWSZ1.40-20E
 
The SFZ program that is bundled with X2 does not play SF2 files. When you use SFZ+ you may have to experiment with the settings to get it to load the soundfont.
 
As at alternative the free TX16W sampler has a lot more features and should play soundfonts http://www.tx16wx.com/

now I tried the both sample player, the tx 16 and the sfx plus with the soundbrewer.com/Hammer-Dulcimer,  
but when uploading the samoles,
I get the following message:

Insufficient memory-
There´s no  enough memory for load the selected soundfont.


There is enough space on the hd´s,more than 50 GB,  
 the ram ?  Glyn , tried a bit to change the sfx plus settings, any hind about that ?

Solved, 
  soundfont of the brewer dulcimer works in rxp1.dont know why and don´t ask why, please!!!!! 

IMHO, the Kontakt factory libraries are just OK... nothing in there that I would use on a project though.. but gives you a good idea what Kontakt can do... so, KONTAKT 5 full version is just the sample player unlocked.  You can't use it to sample just to play back librariies you purchase or make yourself.

We got the DXi version with Sonar 3 I believe. It hasn't really changed much since then & it's still available as a download.

which is what I use.. most sample makers will stick with the NKI format, so older users can use their sample libs.


the chicken translator or whatever it is.. conforms to the later (none cakewalk) standard of "SFZ" , and will include / introduce invalid entries into the SFZ.


I'd have converted them to DP , if it's only a few.. but the link to the original webpage doesn't seem to work.
