yes but don't use the x2 update.
the update wont even install on xp or vista.

youll be able to use it as some have said it works okay.

bottom line/straight up, theres your answer.

just keep in mind sonar doesn't support it and if you do come here to ask questions tell people first thing ur using xp.
it will narrow down a slew of results.

thanks.  I am not quite sure what you mean by the update.  I was planning on downloading x2 (the full version) and installing it.
     Thanks again

X2 will install on XP. The quick fix for X2 Producer http://www.cakewalk.com/S...reader.aspx/2007013292 will install on XP. The X2a patch will not install on XP (this is what is meant by an update). There will be no more bug fixes for X2 on XP. You may be better off waiting until your OS upgrade before messing with X2.

I'm not a Sonar pro by any means, but I will say this. I tried to use X2 on XP and the results were not very good. Your best bet is to bite the bullet and upgrade to at least Win7.

I have built a new machine specifically for Sonar with Win7 and have been happy so far. A few hair pullers, but I'm not entirely sure it's not in some part at least my fault.

well i recieved a letter giving me $99 price that ends today.
a.  will this be x2a?
b.  I do have a laptop with windows 8 on it. (don't really have an interface for it)

but I thought if nothing else I would at least take advantage of the deal>
Is that a complete version of producer?

The $99 deal is an upgrade price for the full version. If you take advantage of the deal, you will have the original X2 available for download in your store account (answer to part a). To update that version to X2a, you will have to download the X2a update patch.

FWIW, all Cakewalk upgrades are full versions of their produces. Upgrades refer to special prices for existing users. Updates are patches to a particular version.

No.  I took advantage of the same offer only 3 weeks ago and the version I downloaded was X2, not X2a.
