hi all,

been working with Sonar 8.5 forever even though I bought X1 and X2 and just never installed them. Well I'm finally getting around to trying out X2.

my first issue i'm encountering is the track view doesn't seem to have an effects bin the way older versions do. I also did a search on the Cakewalk website and it clearly shows that it DOES have an effects bin in the track view and that you can right click it and add effects as usual, but mine its just a big empty gray space under the main track settings. Sure down in the Console view I have effects bins, but not in the track view which is where I'm used to doing it... Also now that I think about it, there's no volume sliders either.

Is there something I'm not seeing that should turn these things back on? I'm working so far only with audio tracks, haven't gotten into doing any MIDI yet with X2. I've tried zooming in/out I've tried expanding the view way beyond how big it should need to be but its just a big empty space

Thanks for the help

haha LITERALLY no more than 2 seconds after posting that, I clicked back over and noticed the "Custom" with a drop down arrow next to it (after trying for 15 minutes before posting). clicked on that and went to All and there comes back everything I know and love haha. Thanks :-)

very easy fix, just go to the top of where your tracks are in the track view and youll see a little drop down menu.
switch this to all.

its called the track view filter I believe.
its also customizable, meaning you can choose what you'd like to see in your tracks.

too many things in your tracks boxes ?
customize will let you pick and choose what you see.
different tracks have different options as well, midi, audio, exc.

haha yea, thanks though. it actually is a very cool feature to allow that to be customizable. once i get into the swing of things i think i definitely will customize how the track view is layed out :-)
