  • **SOLVED** Editing Marker Text when the Now Time Marker is placed on that Marker?

I've noticed this before but I didn't realise either:
  1. What a nuisance this is (if this is how it's supposed to work)
    or
  2. I can't find out how to do it properly!
Probably the latter, so I'd appreciate any help on how to do this

I've decided to make some chord and structure changes in a song I'm working on. As part of my changes, I want to edit the marker text in a few places in the tune - for example, I wish to change all markers Post Chorus G-A-B to Post Chorus G-F#/D-B.

To do this really quickly, I'm using the Markers Module to quickly send the Now Time Marker to each one I want to alter.

However, I find that no matter where I click, the Marker pane fails to open. If I right click (as you normally would to access the box) it just brings up the 'Insert Marker/Set Loop Points' etc dialogue.

The only way I can access the marker to edit the text is to move the Now Time Marker out of the way first

This doesn't happen in X1, so I'm guessing it has something to do with the zoom/drag tool.

Any help to solve this would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry if I misunderstand, but why do you need to send the Now Time Marker to each one you want to alter?
I think you just need to double-click the marker in the Marker window and change its name. (Again, sorry if I misunderstand.)

Thanks for your input, you have understood exactly what I'm asking.

And yes, I fully agree that I could do what you say.

I was only using my example to try and understand, in a much broader sense, why I can't access the text detail of a marker when the Now Time is in the same position.

Cheers again!

Somewhat off-topic, but may I just say I am not a fan of the recent changes to the NOW marker? I swear it behaves like a separate windows application sometimes. I've seen it in the task bar, independent of Sonar.

It intercepts clicks that should be going to the Sonar window.

SteveStrummerUK - alt shift 4.  I use it all the time. Once you remember it you'll be able to work quickly.

I got tired of forgetting and searching for the command so I run Duckbar which gives me a button to open it with....

Yes, I get button-lazy... ;-)

I would use the the markers view to change any and all marker text.

I too use the View Markers for changing text, as I usually have more than one change to make to them.

Be careful not to press alt shift F4. It will exit Sonar, which I mistakenly did twice now.
