I don't listen to jazz but this sounded good.

It was hard to listen to John? Not commenting on the singing, I could, but I won't. I'm commenting on the mix and production. As a rule, vocals down the middle, everything else spread at least a bit. And the vox seem to need some compression and or ride the fader a bit. To me, they were there, and then they weren't, and viola, there they were again. But aside from the technical aspect, you may want to consider a singer who you could direct regarding what you're looking for in the performance (no disrespect, I'm just sayin...)

It was a mistake to put this up. I'm sorry.
Is the singing really that bad?

Hey, we can all sing, different people do it differently. And I'm sure you have many talents? I'm just recommending that you work with a singer. Some people play guitar really well? Some play the bass or keys really well, some people are good singers. Different people have different strong suits, there's a string/fiddle player named Scotty who posts here? He's "unbelievable..." Some are writers, some are engineers. We all get by with a little help from our friends. Again, I meant no disrespect. The current performance can be improved with compression, and perhaps comping.

Not a mistake to put this up. I get the feeling the whole point of this place is for people to share what they are trying to do!

The song has some interesting chords, some remind me of Rachmaninoff! and the arrangement is pretty together.

I'm not a good enough vocalist to criticise, but I can tell you might want to take some of the huuuuuuuge leaps out of the melody line. Too large are the interval jumps, they would make even a great singer nervous. If you are in love with the melody you've got here, then sing it twelve times and select the best bits and cobble it all together (a.k.a. "comping") . . . then do it all again for the double track. Add reverb to taste. Voila!

But I think the melody line could stand some revising to get rid of the leaps across the Grand Canyon of intervals.

nice job, thanks for the share!

yeah, I tried to tell him the same thing via PMs? But he doesn't accept criticism well... In fact, "not at all." But everybody can't rock. That's OK, but people should understand their limitations? There's a reason I'm not an underwear model...

I agree with emerald. It would be a greater mistake to not post. Feedback is so important, even if you disagree you still think.

I've reported Jablomi19 for abuse.  He seems to get off sending me numerous PMs with link of him singing and telling me "this is how it's done".  THAT'S constructive criticism?  Where's HIS Grammies?  Who is he to put it to me that way?!  He's no more of a professional that I am.  Damned right I won't post here anymore.  Not a very friendly crowd here afterall.

Yes, take input from others, without complaining? I found out how to turn off PMs Yeah! So regardless of how bad it sucks? Post it, and look for feedback. It can always be improved, especially in certain cases (Ssssshhhhh this one...)
