Like said before Tone Boosters Barricade limiter is cheap (in price), and is also very good.
Why not try it out to see if you like it: https://www.toneboosters.com/tb_barricade_v4.html

This is what i used before CL

CL isn't a pro-channel.  They just locked the VST to Sonar, which is unfortunate.  Why they didn't treat it like the L-Phase and offer it as a separate purchase is beyond me.  Great plugin.

I think the L1 is the touchstone, everybody tried to imitate that one, particularly Cake.
They've just released the updated 25th anniv. L1, beautifull look, same thing, I'll stick to that one. Also use the Concrete a lot on PC and ad mentioned: for moderate limiting (-2 or -3 dB) you won't hear any difference. Any major limiter will do.

The Concrete Limiter (to my ears) adds some very subtle thickness/saturation/glue/depth, I don't know what to call it. It's just something that I have yet to hear in anything else I've tried.

Love the TRacks Stealth Limiter for a hardcore mastering limiter.
Bit much for everyday track use; great for final master prep.
<sigh> I still used CL often at the track level. I will miss that one.

Tonebooster's Barricade is excellent.
I am also now using Waves L2. It's now my favorite.

Fabfilter Pro-L limiter is the best one I’ve ever used. I own all of the Waves limiters and they will all square off the transients when pushed even just a little bit. Fabfilter Pro-L can do lots of limiting while still retaining the integrity of your transients... the peaks are smooth and rounded, with no signs of flatlining/squaring off. I still use the Waves L2 for certain things, but Pro-L you can trust on your entire mix.

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned Voxengo Elephant yet. Here's a review:

I am a fan of Elephant and use it on most of my projects.

I just did a comparison between Waves L1 ($29 on sale) and Concrete Limiter. I set them as close to the same as possible (numerically) and grouped them so I could AB immediately. Concrete seems to have a tiny bit more low end but L1 is pretty good in all other respects.
