Excellent post Bob.

Must have taken you forever to type it all out.

For what it's worth, I've copied these instructions for myself whilest I await the arrival of Kontakt any day now.

So the results of your efforts have just doubled at the very least, but I'm guessing you've probably have helped even more than just us 2.

Thank you Bob,

Jim

Thank you for the kind words - I have a confession.  I knew I had written and posted those same instructions before, so I just found the old thread and did a copy/paste.

Once I started typing the original ones, it all just kind of flowed, so it didn't seem as long to type as it looks when you read it.

But the important thing is that there is another happy camper out there in our little family - it's like watching him get on the school bus for the first time... (getting misty eyed)

Hahaha! I'm just glad I'm not getting on the 'short bus'!

One way or another though Bob, you've spent a lot of time typing this out regardless of whether done all at once or in parts & pieces.

Much appreciated!

I will confess that I've already purchased Embertone's Complete Deal of all their Instruments for Kontakt, which was 30% off.

Really llike those and can't wait to try them soon.

Yep. Thanks.

I had one tiny issue that I want to see if I can duplicate before I hop on that bus.

I don't have time right now to try it.

Bob, I was able to duplicate the issue I had.

After I add my synths to K5 I begin assigning them in track view.

When I get to audio track 8 my selection in the drop down box for input assignment K5 selections say:

Kt8. Left (mono)
<error> Right (mono)
Kt.8 / <error>: Stereo

Any ideas? Everything else looks fine.

7.  Now if you want, you can rename the name of each output channel, by clicking on the name at the top of the fader, and typing in whatever you want.  This is just a nice display thing to do.  At this point, you will have all of the internal routing stuff taken care of, and it's on to getting tracks set up and assigned.

I originally typed this as a 'nice to do' kind of thing - I always do this, and I find it easier for input routing assignments for the audio tracks:

Give the above a try and let me know if you are still having trouble.

Thank you - so many folks have helped me out over time, that I feel compelled to do what I can to assist folks - we are all in the same sometimes leaky boat, a small community, and what we do can be very passionate.  Because of that, it can also get frustrating quite quickly, so I try to help get folks back to doing recording, rather than fuming amid a bunch of problems.
