hi all, I was working with a guitar track in X1; I plugged my guitar right into my interface and setup a new track in Sonar. Got a good clean sound through the inputs and all seemed fine. But when I tried apply any effects in the track, they wouldn't alter/effect the sound at all. I tried about six different patches and nothing worked. What could be the problem? I've never had this problem before and it's always worked on vocals and other instruments. -ryan

Is input echo switched on?

As Twigman said, turn Input Echo on. It won't record the sound with the effects though so you need to leave the effect on the track so you can hear the effect when you play it back. It only records the clean sound. If you want to save the track with the effects, you have to bounce the track to a separate audio track.

ok cool thanks. I was under the impression that the effected sound would be heard before recording.

Maybe you are monitoring input and not processed audio....check your sound interface.

It will be if you turn INPUT ECHO on! You will hear the effected sound, but the clean sound will be recorded. There might be a slight delay depending on whether you have a decent soundcard.

Hey, Spacey... I like the Captain Beyond avatar! I love their first album, the second is OK and the third without Rod Evans is why they broke up. Dancing Madly Backwards... Dancing on a sea of air... Yeah!

I'm glad I was "there" back when it was going down. Still have the original LP's in excellent condition.
No doubt it would be great to be young again but man I'm sure glad I got to experience such a great
period of music...watching and hearing The Beatles or Armstrong steppin' out and doing the moonwalk in HD would have been nice though. :)

I use to try and help users more...I'm reminded of why I stopped.

+1 on Captain Beyond... I had a bet with a friend in '74? that they would be more popular than Bachman Turner Overdrive... I lost but I still like CB more.
