BRConflict, Thanks for your VERY gracious, and HELPFUL commentary on some VERY reasonable, empathetic, albeit frustrated, issues/questions in an otherwise atmosphere of UNhelpful, useless "comedians". KC
in all seriousness what did you expect to hear ?
they should keep all the versions the same with updating anything but minimal features, or how bout just the ones you want updated?
it is impossible to please every one. things you might think are a waster upgrade I find useful and vice/versa.

your threads title says it all.
uncomprehend-able.

its probably the same reason this thread only has 9 posts (not including mine)

you didn't like bitfippers post ?
thought that was creative, and surprisingly sad you cant admit it either.

One thing not thought of in all these threads was that CW saw that touch would be coming and, I believe created X1 with Skylight to prepare for it. X2a is the result. Why fix things that seem to not be broken; could be that they would be under a touch OS. Right now X2a is the only DAW that supports multi touch. The fact that CW pulled this off with out loosing mouse and keyboard control is a rather brilliant thing that too many seem oblivious to.

At this point it seems we should be praising CW for their foresight. Instead we get these posts and threads complaining that things have changed. Really?

Personally, I wouldn't want touch features until Cakewalk could address the size of all the elements in Skylight. I would like to see someone actively and efficiently using touch features on a laptop without much fuss. Even the demo video looks uncomfortable and clumsy, but I can't deny they thought this would be a prime time to get in on this sooner, rather than later. I just think Touch features needs a different Skylight interface, one conducive to "touch". The current one absolutely is not the one. It's too small.

As to the rhetoric on this thread, if given the chance, people on here are pretty nice and willing to help if not provoked, but I should remind everyone that many new people come here out of frustration and in my case, having bad experiences with Cakewalk support. Sometimes they just need time to see, just like I did.

Why do s'ware developers always have to change basic, functional features that have worked for 20 yrs, and just change them for the sake of changing them?

The OP only asked three questions the first was answered the second questions answer is hold down the "J key". The third question I thought was rhetorical.

in some ways your right Brian, your also a pretty reasonable guy, though I don't always agree with you, I find you different from the other people venting.
because I know your just voicing your concerns and many occasions I've even listen to your praise sonar.
unfortunately not every one is like you. they're comments are not well written or well thought out and it is anger, taken as a "im sick of this".

we all have those moments, but if we all just vented this place would be a zoo.
I took the OP's first post as just a vent but also a babbling "this Sux".
those threads like this usually turn out like this, and the OP coming back asking why everyone has left ridicules comments ?

Why fix things that are not broken? To offer something that's "new and improved!" so you'll buy the same product over and over. Why did Cakewalk hide the interleave button? Why did Microsoft take away the File, Edit and View menus from Word and Excel? Why do they force desktop users to see a UI designed for tablets in Win 8? Why is each version of Kontakt incompatible with every previous version? To give you a reason to buy the same product one more time.

Fortunately, we do get a few genuine improvements along with the gratuitous shuffling of buttons.

Now be a good consumer and stop complaining! The economy is depending on you.

And I say" Get your Filthy Hands off of Me You Damn Dirty Apes" !!
