This should be an easy one, but I've searched Cakewalk's Webb site to no avail - what exactly is the 'Stereo Interleave' button I see on my audio tracks and how and why is it used?
Thanks!

Thank you for the link, but the button I'm referring to does not look like the one illustrated in your link.
Unless the icon for that button has changed, along with it's name?
When I hold my cursor over the button in question, a little box pops up that says, "Stereo Interleave".
It looks kind of like this:

(((.)))

with the little dot located as centered, not down at the bottom like that.

The button graphic did change, the link reflects the X2a graphic for the interleave button.

Just think of it as a stereo/mono button.

The Interleave button allows you to force a track to play in stereo or mono. This comes in handy when you want to use stereo effects on a mono track, for example.
