A friend sent me a SONAR 5 project and asked me to add bass and help with mixing. his project included vocals guitars, drums etc.  I was able to open the project in X2, seemed without any issues. However after recording the bass part and started mixing, I noticed when I added a couple of plug ins (vocal channel), there seemed to be another process open in the task part that had a "plug" looking icon. I have never seen this process before and it only seems to be open when I have the plugin "open". I have opened a project that I created in X2 and this "process" in the task bar doesn't not show up ever. I also noticed in the the project created in Sonar 5, the settings of the plugins (vocal channel) seems to just randomly change. I can't seem to find a pattern as what may be causing it.

Anyone have any ideas or experience this or something similar?

Not entirely sure what you mean. Any chance of uploading a screenshot?

do you mean change from the original or change every time you open the project?

Are they the same exact plugs as is in the old S5?

Are you running 64 bit or 32 bit Sonar?

I'm with Bristol, but do wonder if you are reffering to the bitbridge icon.  Is it appearing in the top left of the plug window?

I'm wonderingif the old project is somehow loading a 32bit version of the plug.

it changes randomly while the project is open and I am mixing. The original project did not use this plugin. He sent me the project, I use X2 64 bit and added the vocal channel 64 plugin to the project.

I am not sure how to upload an image. I will look into that, if someone can save me some time and telll me how, that would be cool! :)  Once I figure that out, I will upload.

ok, i believe as jb mentioned , it is the bit bridge process/app whatever it is called. However I have the project opened in 64 bit session and am using a 64 bit version of the plugin, which was not used prior to my version of the project, why would bitbridge be used?????  Hmmmmmmmm.

Did you install X2 32bit and X2 64 bit on your system, or just 64 bit?  I'm just fishing for clues?

be willing to bet money the original was recorded in 32 bit

what are the vsts and / or synths in this original project.

im wondering if sonar 5 supported bitbridge ?
if it didn't and your mixing 32 bit/64 bit plug ins this could be a problem.

I would try replacing those drums(if they are soft synth 32 bit),
take the midi track and drag it to a new instance of session drummer.

back up the original project.

I'm pretty sure Sonar 6 was the first to support 64 bit, so yes, it will have been recorded in 32 bit, and not support bitbridge.

The OP has pointed out that the offending plug in was only added in X2, and was not present in the original project.

I do think that it is picking up the 32 bit version of Vocal Strip.  I only use X2x64, so I'm not sure how it works with both installed on your system.

Have a look in your plug in manager to see if Sonar is also scanning your 32 bit version of this plug.

I have loaded projects from Sonar 6 32 bit and not experienced this sort of issue.
