I base my expectation more on the fact that X1b was released in March than on any great need for fixes at my end.

I thought X2 might follow a similar rollout scheme to X1.

And I have heard the odd complaint here and there regarding take lanes, or at least the desire for some improvements.

and that would be the thing id like to see improved :)

X2B or not X2B. That is the question!

Shakespear or X2B,that is the question.

Seriously though,as soon as I stopped using that N.I.KA6 buss powered interface, but now a VS-100,everything is super stable[though "lowest" latency, round trip is 9.1ms, good enough?],so I don't mind waiting a lil bit,but yeah I would have thought X2B,would be out by now too.=/

only 2 weeks ago you were recommending this interface to everyone (your N.I.KA6 buss powered interface) saying it was great, and the vs100 is being discontinued for a good reason because its latency was unacceptable.
so to all those you suggested the N.I.KA6 buss powered interface, is that not a good set up ?

remember us having that discussion ?

Yes I do,and if you go to that VS latency[or discontinued thread?] I have apologized for being too hasty in my decision, and now love the VS!,also I never said I thought it was discontinued....that was the title of the thread.

The N.I.KA6 does get lower latency, but it lost it's connection too often, and something to do with "it" in general was making X2 crash[due to the fact, that X2 no longer crashes, with the VS.]

I'm fairly sure, that even if you download the Win7 64 bit driver,it's still possible,to bugger up the setup,as there is a "setup" choice,at every step along the way,of opening the driver .zip.

I reckon I must have done this, for example, you can choose setup, before you even get to "Win7",and more importantly, before you get to"64 bit",which I must have done, those first times,as now it[VS-100] is working much better!

I hope that clears up my,sometimes "too quick to conclude" misgivings?
Sincerely
Bob

EDIT: Apparently the hot "low round trip latency",Bus powered,NEW TECH,interface,is Steinbergs brand new UR22.

This is info, coming from DAW guru "Scott @ ADK".....I'm not sure about the other Steinberg USB models, but supposedly this LATEST offering the "UR22" is pretty amazing.

SO MUCH FOR LANE CHANGES.its a baby fix that would please the masses??
i hope they bring some options with video since Adobe is semi compatable with x2 it would be good to see it used linked with sonar.

I like that idea,
ive always kinda not been for video enhancements, because I think sonar is a daw (although, i must admit, it would be cool)
but having improved options to link adobe with sonar,(or maybe even something like vegas) that's a great idea.

X2b - Hoping for complete, flawess integration with the MCU Mackie Control protocol...

I hope they put it through the wringer this time. X2a has some seriously easy-to-find bugs. Most of them cosmetic, but should have been caught, me thinks. With every release thus far, I've lost more and more trust in the QA testers at Cakewalk--Or the money-holders, if the QA peeps asked for help. I have a VERY strong feeling X2b will be a serious let-down, delving into improvements that don't have anything to do with gripes in the forum, and listing bugs that are way obscure. That's just my gut-feeling, based on past updates from X1.  Yes, I'm a little ill about all this. Sonar kicks serious butt, but it only takes a few minor bugs to bring all that power crashing down to the ground to the users.
