Thanks for the clarifications John. This is good news to me, though I'm not sure how it squares with other stuff I've read.

For example, maybe the xxx-64 were updated at some point ?
They certainly now have a nice big 64 tacked on the end of their filenames.

I have been wondering how they could be running without bitbridge.

Apologies to all for introducing confusion into this thread.

Because you have grace you have nothing to apologize for. It is very confusing and has been for many years.

All the plugins are full 64 bit that come with Sonar except those I mentioned and the ones they brought over from Project 5. The Project 5 plugins are all DX or DXI and wont show up in 64 bit Sonar anyway.

However that is not to say that all 64 bit plugins are 64 bit internally. Some are 32 bit internal. One can find out in X2 by looking at the FX bin and seeing the hash marks at the bottom. 2 mean 32 bits 4 mean 64 bits.

Rock solid for me using  x64 Producer w/ Win7 since I started using the RME Babyface.

The exact opposite before that, when I was using an MBox 2. Ugh.

I still can't believe the difference. So happy now.

Win7 64bit OS, Line 6 UX2 ASIO, and virtually everything 64bit in X2 (apart from one or two plugs I use occasionally) here Mike.

Seems pretty stable for what I do, but to be honest, I don't put it under as much strain as some.

Halfway between mostly stabl;e and Rock Soild for me. It does not crash for me but there are some glitchy things that sometimes happen- disappearing now time bar, ProChannel oddities etc.

Somewhat quirky.  64bit win 8.  I actually have moved on to Cubase 7.  Pains me to say...Cubase has been pretty damn awesome.

Maybe it's too early to say (only 10 days), but X2 seems to be stable for me so far.  On the other hand, it crashes after closing any project that contains SampleTank.  However this is not something specific to X2, as I was having the same issue before X2.

I have been mostly using the 32-bit version, as I am currently working on some old projects.

Given that the majority of folks here so far are having a great experience, I wonder what it is that makes things so finicky for others. It must work otherwise power users wouldn't be saying its rock solid.

What I'd love to know is what's causing people like myself have these quirky/instability issues. Obviously ( I think) it's configuration problems but what???. Million dollar question I guess.

I'm in the same boat as you and Stuhldreher. That's why I'm poking around trying to find my weak links.
I thing after talking with a fellow Forumite that my first order of business is going to build myself a PC better equipped for the task's I need.

Window 8 64 bit, Sonar X2a

Only 1 crash in 6 months. Wasn't really doing anything out of the ordinary. Went to add a midi track and gone, no message or anything.
