  • NOT SOLVED?: X2: V-Vocal no longer mutes underlying clip?

In X1 (and every version of SONAR since V-Vocal was introduced) creating a V-Vocal clip automatically muted the underlying non-modified clip.  In X2, at least on my machine it no longer does that and I have to manually mute the underlying clip so as not to hear the tuned clip with the original.

Anyone else?

UPDATE:  Seems like I was the only one experiencing this, but just in case anyone else sees this, re-installing X2 from the original download files fixed the issue.  A little scary since that means that something went wrong the first time without any symptoms other than that, but at least it's working now.

UPDATE II:  Seems the problem only happens in take lanes, and I didn't test post-reinstall in lanes.  So I'll follow up later tonight and see if the reinstall actually fixed the issue.

It muted the original clip when I created V-Vocal clips. Doesn't actully remove them when you click "remove v-voval clip". amd does not mute the, either.  Took me a couple of hours to figure this out. What am I doing wrong? Or is this a bug?

Interesting-  Are you guys on Win7 64 bit with SONAR x64?  I wonder what could be different about my setup?  Maybe a corrupt download or install?

I may try a re-download and install to see if it persists.

This is happening to me as well. Seems related to take lanes. I opened a project I had last worked in with 8.0, went to add a V-Vocal clip to a portion of one of the takes (via. the take lane), and after making adjustments, I was hearing both the original and the V-Vocal clip.
When I collapsed the take lanes and applied the V-Vocal effect to the same region from the collapsed track, it muted all three underlying takes, but I also heard nothing. The V-Vocal clip was added to the first take I had (which was muted), so since it remained muted, I heard nothing.
I moved the "keeper" take to the top, tried again, and this time, all three were muted and the V-Vocal was applied to the second (muted) take.
This is with the latest X2a update. Grrrrrrr.....
