When I load my tracked out beats it saves OK but then if I Split the clips and want to copy and paste the clips here and there is when it takes 5 minutes to save. Each clip is about 4 minutes long, so I'm wondering if its too much info to save once I split the clips and copy and paste. I have a brand new computer quad 4 with 10 gigs of internal RAM so its not my computer. I'm thinking there is a setting I need to change. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

A few things that may "fix it". Try and "Apply trimming" or bounce the clips. Turn audiosnap off if it is on the clips (Select all and check the audiosnap tab in the inspector).

That may help but a save time of that length doesn't sound right. Is it all projects or just the one?

Apply Trimming does not seem to do anything to the wave/track. Nothing seemed to happen when I did that. I did not see a way to turn audiosnap off, it gave me other options but not to turn it off in the inspector. I did not want to bounce clips down to a wave file by exporting and then re importing but that was the only way I could get it to work.

select all tracks by holding down SHIFT + A
then look in the track inspector "audiosnap"

if it is on, then open audio snap by selecting "A"

highlight all tracks as before and turn audiosnap off by using the power switch on the audiosnap GUI.

JUst for future reference there's no need to export them and re-import to bounce clips. You can just bounce them in situ. Track view menu---->Clips----->Bounce to clip(s)

Thank you both!!! The audiosnap never was on, and I still do not fully understand exactly what audiosnap is. The bounce clip thing basically solves what was going on by bouncing down all the track data. That was a big help. I was importing and exporting taking up a lot of time. Thanks!!

Sometimes, I have dragged out loops to be really really long. Like paste special to 40,000 bars. haha. and then saving takes a while.
