I am trying to figure out how to export a staff display containing notes, lyrics and chords.

I can print it or save it as a .PRN file. I can't do anything with the .PRN file, however.

Does anyone know how to export this as PDF or some other accessible file format?

In theory, one should be able to convert a .PRN file to .PS then create a PDF - but that approach has not worked for me.

Thanks in advance.

I have not printed from the staff view in 8 years so I don't know how current this suggestion might be but I believe one of the free pdf printer drivers should work. Once installed it will show up as a new printer and when chosen it prints to a pdf file. I use PDF995 in other applications. I don’t know if it is a good one or not.

I have printed from staff view and that is exactly how it is done.  You can export a MusicXML file that can be imported into Sibelous Or Notion4, but in one chords will not get imported and the other messes up rests or beats in a measure.

I print out parts from Sonar and handwrite in articulations and some notes (septuplets) that Sonar can not do.

Okay - for me the key seems to be to select "Adobe PDF" as the default printer, and then printing it to file with "rely on system fonts etc." UNCHECKED.

This then creates a .PRN file - but now Adobe Acrobat can open it and save it as PDF.

Thanks for the tips!
