In a search for some older material, I found a few things (cassettes, some 4-track, some simple stereo) that I wanted to keep so decided to see if they could be pulled into a digital realm.
The first song is straight improve (2 guitars, c. 1994), which was unfortunately recorded straight into a tape deck without channel separation. When my friend and I got together we would improve for hours and I would run cassettes in the background "just in case" I wanted to use something later. This one was neat, but I had left the cassette where my 2yo son could pull the tape out and crinkle it. I was surprised how well it recovered (we have some neat tools available in the digital world).
https://soundcloud.com/mettelus/harmonics-rhythm-mp3 I think that one leads right straight into the second (I have no idea how to "drive" SoundCloud), which is c. 1989 and was recorded with the most archaic (and cheap) equipment on a Fostex 4-track. This is actually the first recording I ever did. A friend and I in college with a 1-hour window to "do something" decided to do a song end-to-end with what we had. These tracks were separated, so was 7 tracks total, but the vocals were on a terrible mic and actually at -40dB peak when I recorded these tracks into SONAR (from a Tascam 424 I still have under my desk). The first half is instrumental on this... the harmonics were achieved on a Gibson SG/Crate amp with a Wah Wah pedal.

The tape noise on both of these was pretty nasty, but I cleaned them up first with Adobe Audition.
