Sometime between 11 last night and 4 this morning my office/studio was cleaned out. All musical instruments, amps, studio monitors, mikes, even my sub - all gone. Computers, along with SONAR and every sample library (backed up but they took my backup drive too). I am so screwed. Yes, I have insurance, but that wont replace 10 years of projects.
Just needed to rant.

Wow...  That news really bums me out!

Get all over the police to do a full investigation, let them know that the data is the most important.  For that much to be taken it HAD to take some time so maybe someone noticed the dirtbags or their vehicle(s), heck, at that time of the morning, they should show up on cameras as well.  Definitely alert the local pawnshops and music stores in case they get inquiries about gear for sale.

Damn, that really, really sucks Dave!

Unfortunately that graphically illustrates why you want to keep some backups off-site (or in the Cloud)... Damn.

Once you have a detailed list of the items stolen, post it or PM a copy to some of us down here around the Portland Metro Area (me, Pedro, Kenny, eph).  That way if we hear of anything (or see something on Craigslist) we can let you know.

what a nightmare!  I can't imagine losing my work history.  Replacing the hardware & software is minimal, it's the creative loss that hurts.
Good luck!

Bit that is f***** atrocious. I hate thieving scum like that with all my heart and soul, I would quite happily shovel them screaming into an industrial sized furnace. Are you on Facebook or do you know anyone with Facebook? Post a photo of some of your stuff along with a plea for people to share the post and help recover it. Or get someone you know to do it. Periodically, someone will share a photo of a guitar or something on my Facebook feed along with how it was stolen from a van the night before, and before you know it anyone with any kind of musical sensibility (or sympathy for theft victims) is sharing it on their feeds to. You might just draw attention to someone who was offered some of the gear or who knows someone who suspiciously had a lot of gear appear in their apartment overnight. Stuff is sometimes recovered and the thieving amoebas caught. Act fast before they have a chance to sell any of it and/or wipe drives.
