I feel for you, Bit. I've got no helpful suggestions to offer. Integrity costs and the payoff is sometimes slow in coming. About the best thing I can say is that there are a lot of things we can't control and very little that we can. For what it's worth, it seems you've kept your integrity and honor, and that's not a trivial thing. Hang in there, man.

When it rains, it pours. The bank can't accept the insurance check because it's made out to me and my wife. The insurance company can't change the name on the account because her name is still on the title. So tomorrow it's off to the courthouse to (hopefully) take her name off the deed so they can re-issue the check so I can finally recover less than half the replacement cost of my gear. Sheesh.

As if that wasn't enough to pile on, there is now strong circumstantial evidence that a family member may have been involved in the robbery, disabling security lights and unlocking doors for the thieves. I don't want to believe it, but I have a long list of reasons to believe it and a very short list of reasons not to.

Cripes, what else can go wrong this year? Well, I haven't had another heart attack yet...

Oh, lord, Dave-

I'm so sorry to hear what you've been going through! All digits crossed that things go from worse to better soon!

I'd say you are seriously ready to sing the blues Dave!

Keep pushing.

Too much doom and gloom in this thread, so on a positive note...  Congratulations for not having another heart attack (yet)

Today my replacement Neo Ventilator arrives from Sweetwater, so I'll be back properly rotating again. Last night had the first band practice since the robbery. It went well and I learned a new old song I'd never played before. Tomorrow I get my new door and can (hopefully) start sleeping again. The guys who hocked my gear to Guitar Center have been identified, lending hope they'll rat out the actual burglars. My daughter and grandkids move in next week, which means healthy meals, a little rent relief, and an end to that annoying peace and quiet that's been plaguing me since my wife passed away. I'm only a few grand in debt to the IRS this year, a first in a long time. I have a new synthesizer that just gets more frickin' awesome the more I learn about it. The rainy season (Oct-June in Seattle) is drawing to an end and the summer movie season has begun with the Seattle International Film Festival.

Yep, there's a pony in here somewhere.

Great stuff right there bit. And stay positive about the process. It is long and drawn out, but you have made great progress in identifying the fences - keep pushing the police to a resolution and you should get some satisfaction when the dust settles.

Another good reason to have cheap gear.

Good to hear the family is moving in.......the innocence and honesty of the grandchildren will definitely lift your spirits up. For them, it's the simple things that make a big difference......spending quality time with them should benefit everyone. Post your next song featuring the grandchildren. :))
