Yes Kenny we all know how jazz fought very, very hard to carve out a niche as an authentic paradigm. The wars at most schools are legend (between the jazzers and classicists, alas the jazzers won). No offense intended. I just don't take much seriously in that bally hoo. What connects us is our humanity, right bapu?
I think you may need to step away from the magazine stand section of the kids pool and realize that there are actually some people that you may run across on this forum unbeknownst to your self that have actually played and did some hard core dues playing with Iconic Jazz Performers

Unlike popular music , Jazz Musicians have always made it a point to keep the focus on the music first and mentor players of merit ...
It would be totally against everything I'm about in my soul to drop names and hit you with some of the people in Jazz I have played with ...
Trust me Man , I guarantee you most folks couldn't handle the truth if I ever spilled the beans about a time in my life that was magical ...Don't be fooled for a second by that little bull$it resume i put up for soundclick
I have broke bread with the absolute cream of the crop .A few of them even took me under their wing for years and helped guide my musical development ....
There's a reason why I like to fly under the radar .....I could have been so much more .
